Tim Oppelt: When do you need to do probate in Delaware when someone passes away? The answer is it depends on how much they own. In Delaware, if the person passes away owns at least $30,000 in assets, it could be cash among other things, then an estate has to be opened. The second thing is if they own any property either by themselves or as a tenant in common, then they do have to have an estate probate done.

I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions, you can feel free to reach out to us. My name is Tim Oppelt, owner of Opp Real Estate.
